Ingredients

Scale

For the Meat Mixture

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound sausage
  • 6 ounces sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

For the Cheese

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, optional

For the Sauce and Base

  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 package pie dough

For Cooking

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Let refrigerated pie dough soften for about 10 minutes, press it into a deep dish pie pan, prick the bottom with a fork, and bake for 10 minutes until lightly golden.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, sausage, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 7 to 10 minutes, breaking up the meat, until browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease.
  3. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the crust. Add some mozzarella, then the meat mixture. Spoon on the remaining sauce and mozzarella, then scatter pepperoni over the top and finish with Parmesan if using.
  4. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  5. Let the pie cool for 5 to 10 minutes so the layers settle, then slice and serve.

Notes

  • Pre bake the crust until lightly golden and drain the meat well to help keep the crust crisp.
  • Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days, or freeze wrapped slices for up to 2 months. Reheat in a 350°F oven or air fryer until hot throughout.
